Photography is one of several things I do. I'm a hobby junkie, drawn to things with a hands-on side that lets me experiment with complicated ideas, and I like it best when one leads into the next.
Photography
Boats on the Ohio River, aircraft, portraits, sports, and the Traditional Latin Mass. If you met me holding a long lens and handed a card, this is the site on it.
Radio
I'm a licensed amateur radio operator, W2BRS, a call sign first held by my grandfather. I build my own antennas. One of them listens to the aircraft overhead, so some of the planes I photograph, I heard first.
Puzzles
I made obsQRity, a daily puzzle you play on a QR code. It grew out of a career building software, most of it in data storage, and a newspaper ad I was scribbling on one morning.
Faith and family
Catholic, husband, father of two, near Pittsburgh. Also cataloging plants and gardening, electronics, 3D printing, and a long stack of books, both paper and audio.
